Sydney lights up a room even with a mask on, the family connects (Recognize) and relates (Empathetic) so well with her in the room. Comforting and caring in her voice and touch with the patient while I perform cares that are not comforting. The family asks for her when she is not able to be here (school and she works in our Oncology clinic!). She has made me a better nurse, watching and listening to her communicate with the families has reminded me to open up more with families.
