My mother has been hospitalized for 10 days now and although she has had a number of very good nurses, Sydney Kerckeert has been the most compassionate, patient, kind, and soft-spoken one, with a great deal of empathy in her voice. Since my mother had been constipated for a week, an abdominal X-ray indicated she was impacted. Sydney did her very best and convinced my mom that she should get treatment - in spite of what an unpleasant result that is to experience. Sydney is extremely considerate in making sure my mother got the rest she desperately needed between taking muscle relaxers, by not coming into the room abruptly and turning on all the lights at 6 am!
Late last night, from across the hall, I overheard Sydney with a very difficult patient, being calm and considerate, with just the sweetest disposition. I have stayed overnight in the hospital with my mom, for the last 3 nights, and only under Sydney's shift, had I slept through the night. It takes a very special person to be a nurse and Sydney exhibits all the qualities of a great one. Although she is a beautiful girl on the outside, she's even more beautiful on the inside.
My mom has been hospitalized over 14 times, with major surgeries, and my husband, and several of his relatives, are in the medical field, so I speak from experience in recognizing an outstanding nurse. Your hospital should be very proud and fortunate to have an employee who cares so much.
