Sydney Lattimore, RN

I would like to recognize Sydney for her exceptional compassion, dedication, and patient advocacy. Sydney consistently goes above and beyond to ensure her patients receive the highest standard of care and are discharged safely and thoughtfully. One notable example of her commitment involved a patient who was being discharged to live with family four hours away. The patient required a specific medication, but the hospital pharmacist was unable to find a nearby pharmacy that carried it—and the patient was not a candidate for a paper prescription. Recognizing the urgency and importance of this medication, Sydney took it upon herself to contact the patient’s family to identify pharmacies within walking distance of the patient’s new residence. She personally called each location until she found one willing to order the medication and have it available the very next day. This is just one instance that reflects Sydney's dedication. She approaches every patient with compassion and serves as a strong advocate for their needs, both within the hospital and beyond discharge. Her actions reflect the true spirit of nursing and make her an outstanding candidate for the DAISY Award.
