Sydney was excellent in providing care after the birth of my 2nd daughter. She went above and beyond in many instances during the 2 shifts. I was lucky enough to have her as our nurse. Furthermore, and perhaps most important, she was compassionate and caring, always making sure my baby and I were comfortable during IV removals, Foley catheter removals, and when I bathed later for the 1st time after my C-section. When she noticed I was having nipple pain when nursing, she provided some hands-on assistance in helping my baby get in a better position to latch. Additionally, she brought saline and gauze to help soothe my cracked nipples, a new practice that she had recently learned about. The hands-on assistance and follow-up intervention helped me heal. When it was time for my Foley catheter removal and first time to get out of bed after my C-section (something I was anxious about due to pain in my previous C-section), she was patient, encouraging and there for me in all physical and emotional aspects. I felt confident and due to her prompt and well-timed pain management for me, I felt in significantly less pain than my previous C-section recovery. Sydney was by far the nurse who provided the best care and who was a true expert in providing the most evidenced-based care during my time with her. I only wish I could have "cloned" her so I could have her every day of my stay!
