Words that come to mind to describe Sydni are smart, hard-working, detail-oriented, diligent, loving, and compassionate. Sydni, thank you for all you did. Our thanks will never be enough.
I'm going to start this nomination with the name sweet, sweet Sydni. Sydni was truly an angel on earth during one of the hardest times in our family's life. During her weekend option, she cared for M in the CCU for two days. M passed the following morning.

Our family never saw Sydni sit down in two days, she continually cared for M's comfort and needs in multiple ways. She tended to her body position, recalling previous conversations of being told M had a bad right hip and avoiding placing her on that side for longer periods of time.  She suctioned her mouth during her struggles to get comfortable breathing and she provided endless oral care for her dry mouth and pretty teeth, per Sydni's observation.  M did indeed have a beautiful smile. She explained all medications given and worked tirelessly, trying anything that could possibly help M.

M never became responsive after a procedure that involved anesthesia.  Although M wasn't responding, Sydni treated her with the utmost respect and love, taking it upon herself to care for her as though she were awake.  Sydni also went above and beyond medical care.  She helped us load our Church service on Sunday so M could listen to the sermon and enjoy the hymns.  She took an interest in M's life and our family and made us feel as though she was a friend caring for M.

Sydni just knew that M's four grandchildren needed time to be together with their Mamaw on Sunday.  She allowed them to talk and share memories in her room, working alongside them to ensure M was well cared for.  We're certain Mamaw heard every word of their conversations of love and joyful times.  We are so thankful they had that precious time with her.  She passed the following morning.

If we had to leave M's side, we knew she was in the best hands. Her care and overall well-being were a comfort beyond measure for our family. When Sydni's shift ended, she didn't leave until everything was done, even taking out the trash.

Words that come to mind to describe Sydni are smart, hard-working, detail-oriented, diligent, loving, and compassionate. Sydni, thank you for all you did.  Our thanks will never be enough.  We see your hard work and hope Johnson Memorial knows how very lucky they are to have you.

You were simply amazing.  You are the most deserving nurse we've ever known for the DAISY Award.  You will always be a blessing and a DAISY Nurse in our family's eyes.  M was an amazing mother, mother-in-law, and Mamaw (her favorite role). She was a remarkable lady, and she would have loved you.
