I think that we are in a unique position to nominate Sylvia since we have been at St. Joseph's since December 1 and Sylvia has been our nurse during this stay. I say OUR nurse because she has cared for me as well as my husband during his stay in the cardiac unit. Yesterday, February 13, we were transferred to the Continuing Care Unit. I hope that she will qualify even though I was not able to describe her many professional and personal qualities on a few lines. "Nurses that make a special connection with the patient or their family" ...Sylvia was always there with a cherry good morning, a smile and many words of encouragement for us. Job performance exemplifies the mission, vision, and value of the St Joseph Health System" In our opinion, Sylvia exemplifies outstanding qualities as a nurse in every way. She is a definite asset to the nursing staff at St. Joseph.
