My wife was pregnant with our second child, and we thought that we knew what to expect until the doctor told us he had seen dips in heart rate and was recommending an emergency C-section. We’d never been in this kind of situation before, and my wife and I were both scared for our child, as well as an intense surgery that we were unfamiliar with. While I wasn’t able to be there throughout the whole of it (due to them having to apply the anesthesia), my wife told me about what lengths this nurse went to comfort her and to take care of her. She held her hand when I wasn’t able to be back there with her and made sure that there was someone there encouraging her through a scary and unfamiliar setting. She really showed that she cared for my family personally and not just as another resident, and that made the uncertainty more bearable to know that there was someone competent and caring taking care of us.

Thank you, Tabatha, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
