It doesn’t matter how busy she is; it is always a yes. Taira is an extremely versatile leader who is always up for a new challenge and loves to roll up her sleeves and try new things.
Taira is a gem for Kaiser San Rafael; she is all-knowing. Is there anything Taira cannot do? I appreciate how Taira has stepped up and covered for Peri-Op when we were down the director, manager, and several ANMs, in addition to leading the way for the start of our magnet journey, getting our professional governance council and unit-based councils established. All while maintaining her leadership with house supervisors and bed control, where she has consistently kept us within targets. Let's not forget her stepping up in our command center during the strike this past year. Nothing short of Amazing...Clearly, I am a fan of Taira!

This nurse leader has been going above and beyond for several years. She has taken on so many additional interim assignments in addition to her actual role within the organization; seriously, when is she not on a stretch assignment? She excels at everything she does, makes it look easy, and does it with a smile. She routinely volunteers to support many teams across the Medical Center. Even though she is one of the busiest leaders in this Medical Center, she always stops and makes time to help someone else in need. It doesn’t matter how busy she is; it is always a yes. Taira is an extremely versatile leader who is always up for a new challenge and loves to roll up her sleeves and try new things. She has covered just about every nursing role in this building, from Nursing Operations Extraordinaire with true 24/7 coverage, Manager, Staffer, House Supervisor, SOM/ Clinical Director, Magnet Director, and most recently Perioperative Services Director. She is the "go to" person for so many people because of her expertise, knowledge, and willingness to help others.
One nominator shared that if something should ever impede her from performing her role, “I truly believe EACH of our jobs would increase by at least 50% or more".
