When someone is admitted to a hospital, they are away from home in a different environment, with different food and routines, all with the hope of returning home after treatment is over. During that time, the compassion and love shown by caregivers make a world of difference in how someone feels despite what they are going through.

My dad has dementia and is 94 years old. Taliah made his days pleasurable. He smiled every time she came into the room. She made him feel normal despite his dementia and always spoke directly to him whenever she could, even though his ability to comprehend was limited.

She was kind, thoughtful, and always remained calm, even in trying circumstances. These are such important characteristics of a great nurse. You cannot let your stress affect those around you, especially when they are sick.

She kept my dad clean and dry and never complained about anything. Whenever I approached her for help, I was always met with a smile and a willingness to assist. She always followed up on the task and checked to see if we needed anything else.

She administered his medications and explained what was happening whenever we asked. Banner should be proud to have a nurse like Taliah because she represents your hospital so well. I never saw her frustrated or angry—only calm, compassionate, and professional.

Please give her all the support and encouragement she deserves. She is a keeper.

Good luck to her!

Thank you, Taliah, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
