When one individual repeatedly goes above and beyond the call of duty, sometimes it is taken for granted. I sing the praises of this nurse once again. Tonight, I was called to start an IV in the foot of a patient who could not have one in her arms due to lymphedema.
First, I couldn't locate the patient because the call came from the call center three hours earlier while I was in the OR. The next thing I know after I attempted an IV insertion on the patient several times with 22 and 24 g IV's, an angel shows up totally unexpected on West 3 and helps me and this poor patient to get an IV. She is such an asset to your department and a great friend to all of us in the Anesthesia Department. Thank you for all that you do! I believe that not only am I extremely lucky to have her as a member of the team, but every patient and this entire hospital has benefitted from her presence. She takes dedication and passion for her job to the next level.
