Tamara D Nawaratne, RN

Unfortunately, I had to have a spinal fusion recently and had to stay in the hospital. I have never had to stay in the hospital or have such an invasive surgery before, so I was highly anxious. I feel extremely grateful that Tamara was my nurse on 5 West. I instantly felt like I was a family member, and she took care of me as such. She and her team constantly checked on me and made sure I was recovering well. She would change my dressings as needed, help me readjust, help me to the toilet, and always made sure my pain was under control. I never once felt like I was a burden to her, and she helped make me feel comfortable, even when I felt very self-conscious about my inability to take care of myself. Anyone who has the privilege of being taken care of by Tamara is truly blessed. I would let Tamara take care of any of my family members.
