Tamara Higgins, RN
During the early morning hours, I brought my mom to the Emergency Department. Tamara was awesome and very patient with both my mom and me. Since we arrived at 2:00 a.m., Tamara not only checked on my mom, but also always asked if I needed anything.
Because of my mom’s many previous hospital stays, she is not always the easiest patient. Tamara handled her wonderfully, joked with her, and “spoke her language.” She made sure my mom was comfortable both physically and mentally. Thank you!
Later that same evening, I brought a neighbor to the Emergency Department. Tamara was working again and recognized me. It was a great feeling to know that she truly paid attention rather than simply going through the motions.
Once again, Tamara was in a good mood, smiled, demonstrated an excellent bedside manner, and communicated well with both her patient and me. I told her that she was awesome at her job and had a wonderful bedside manner.
She never gave the impression that she was rushed. Instead, she took the time to listen to her patients and their family members or friends.
Tamara is a tremendous asset to Marshfield Medical Center – Park Falls Hospital. She embodies every quality a patient could want or need during a difficult time.
I cannot thank you enough for taking the time to listen to and truly get to know your patients. You are truly a rockstar at your job!
