My daughter, J, who had suffered a miscarriage a few days before, knew something was wrong. In the ER, we were greeted by Tamara, the nurse assigned to her. After getting J settled on the stretcher, she informed us she would be right back. My daughter started to bleed, and Tamara went into compassionate action. Her calm demeanor in this emergent situation was evident. She not only worked in a precise manner but exuded kindness and compassion to J and her husband in an extraordinary way. Tamara took control of everything in the room. I was most impressed by her compassion. She explained so many things with a loving voice. She stroked my daughter's head, reminded her to breathe during the most uncomfortable procedure, advocated for her pain management and became acutely aware when her BP had dropped. She even checked on me and her husband to ensure we were okay. As a nurse, which she didn't know until halfway through that time, I was honored to call her a colleague.
Tamara was an angel sent by God to care for my family. She cared for my family as if it were her family. Her kindness, compassion, and professionalism are to be commended. She is a true DAISY Nurse.
