Tamara is possibly one if not the best nurse we could have ever asked for. Coming to this hospital, or a hospital in general, is very difficult for us. We lost my fiancé, who was the son of Tamara’s patient now. From the start, she was more than amazing. The compassion she showed for not only him but us as well was more than we could ever ask for.

My father-in-law (her patient) entered the ICU as a very critical patient following a STEMI. We thought he wasn’t going to make it past the first night of his stay. Fast forward two days later, we received Tamara as his day shift nurse. Tamara assured us that he was in great hands, and he truly was. Due to his STEMI, he had been intubated. Once she came in then went over all his charts, it was decided it would be possible to try to get him off the ventilator. An hour later, she attempted to do so.
During the procedure, she was so kind to my father-in-law and kept him calm. I don’t think he would’ve been able to come off the ventilator if she hadn’t been such an amazing nurse. She was so happy to have him off of it, as were we. After the procedure, she continued to advocate for him with anything that she might’ve seen as abnormal.

The cooling system he was on was making him shiver too much, and she kept pushing for it to be removed until it finally was. Tamara is just so amazing. We could ask her anything and she wouldn’t hesitate one bit to explain it to us. Even when we had concerns, she would make sure that she checked on what we were talking about and get us an answer if it was something that she was concerned with as well. She has the most beautiful smile and her positive energy just radiates around. If everyone who came to a hospital had a nurse like Tamara, I think this world would be a happier place. I cannot thank her enough for all that she did for us. I’m still in complete awe of her and the work that she does!
