I've had more than my share of surgeries, but I was really nervous for my latest one. Tamara sensed that and her voice/attitude was compassionate and respectful. She asked me what type of music I liked and in no time Classic Rock was playing. We talked a bit and then she started singing along with me to the music. I was no longer worried, felt relaxed and then realized my IV was in and everything was going to be great.
I asked Tamara how long she'd been a nurse and when she said "13 years" I smiled because that is mine and my wife's lucky number.
