I am writing this to recognize the truly outstanding medical and personal care extended to me by Nurse Tammy. I had a five to six-hour operation on my back (Posterior L3-4 transforaminal lumbar inter-body fusion - minimally invasive). When I finally came out of the anesthetic and transferred to my room in the hospital it was around 6:30 pm. I was introduced to my nurse who covered some of the basics with me, then introduced me to Tammy who came on at 7 pm.
Right from the start, Tammy made every effort to make me physically, mentally, and emotionally comfortable. I was in a fair amount of pain, and due to the painkillers and anesthetic drugs was in a strange and unstable mental state. For the next three nights, Tammy made every effort to attend to my needs. I was very emotional and concerned about the outcome of the operation, and she went to great lengths to calm me and assure me things would get better.
Tammy helped me get through some of the worst times in my life. She is a professional, highly skilled, and competent nurse, and a truly caring and compassionate individual. While I was given adequate to good care by all the individuals during my stay in the hospital, Tammy stood head and shoulders above them all. I asked her to give me the DAISY Nomination form so I could submit it about her, but she declined, saying she was just doing her job.
Thank you Tammy for making a huge difference in this life.
