I have had the rewarding opportunity to work beside Tamika as a staff nurse and under her supervision for several years. She is an amazing individual in every respect. I am thankful that she has chosen healthcare as her calling because she has made us all better nurses because of her influence on us.
Tamika is the quintessential nurse. She is kind, compassionate and caring. Tamika is smart, filled with vigor and enthusiasm. Her clinical skills are exceptional. She remains calm, professional and competent in all situations. She has an astounding ability to find the exact and appropriate words that give solace and peace to broken hearted loved ones. She can defuse stressful and tense situations wither gentile genuine demeanor. She is courageous. She is supportive.
Tamika always knows what is going on in the emergency room, always one step ahead of potential problems. She works tirelessly, always listens, never complains. She is a defiant patient advocate, unafraid and unashamed to be their biggest supporter. She treats her staff with respect and is quick to offer praise for work well done. She has been an inspiration to us all. She leads by example. She would never ask anyone to do something she would not do herself.
I have worked in healthcare for 35 years and I have never met anyone whom I admire more than Tamika. She has made me not only a better nurse but a better person as well. I am truly thankful and feel blessed that I was able to know her.
