Tammi always delivers uncompromised, excellent patient care that directly contributes to better outcomes for each of her patients.
Some say that when an extraordinarily good person passes, they become an angel, but if angels live on Earth, I'm sure they would choose to be a nurse. The nurse I am nominating exemplifies this. She has inspired my practice for over ten years now. This nurse's patience, endurance, compassion, and professionalism truly know no limits. I can speak for many when I say, "I don't know how she does it!" No matter how difficult the patient, assignment, or personal issues weighing down on her, Tammi always delivers uncompromised, excellent patient care that directly contributes to better outcomes for each of her patients. Working years with pretty much the same group of colleagues often creates a work family that is, for the most part, very beneficial, but, can also at times create conflict. Tammi somehow manages to maintain excellent personal and professional terms with everyone. I often joke that she is the Snow White of nursing. She has the inspirational capacity to deliver boundaries and defend her decisions to colleagues and her patients in such a way that leaves them smiling afterward, something we all should take note of. Her positive attitude and sense of humor can diffuse any negativity that may spill into one’s practice. I have seen her turn many frowns upside down on countless patients and colleagues who were struggling with personal or professional issues. This nurse is my sounding bar for practice. Sometimes I find myself becoming weary in this profession, but I look to this nurse to remind me of the standard of care I must maintain no matter what. Tammi is that example for me … even trying to maintain her standards is enough to be confident in my practice. Tammi is the epitome of what the award represents – and is long overdue. She is a true DAISY Nurse.
