October 2025 Honoree
Tammie Collins, RN
My 93-year-old grandfather had severe delirium with hallucinations and became intermittently combative and required three code BERTs. Through it all, Tammie stayed calm, optimistic, and in control. She answered every question directly, de-escalated tense moments, and called in help at the perfect time even when my grandfather used harsh words.
Morning after morning, she arrived with a smile and stayed late after her shift, returning from charting to support the next nurse. Thanks to her skill and compassion, we stayed steady, and he made a full recovery.
Personally, I’m deeply grateful for the kindness she showed him and our family. She went above and beyond the call of duty, and we couldn’t be more thankful for her!
