Tammy was the best I have ever had. I'm a very complicated patient of 15 years of age, and after this nurse provided care for me and my family I immediately asked if I could nominate Tammy for this award. Not once did she make me feel like my medical issues were too much. She constantly called my parents and I her family and treated us like we were.

When I found out I was going to be spending my spring break at the hospital instead of my family's planned vacation, she comforted me as I cried. Then, she talked to the doctor and found out they were wrong and after making sure there was a 100% chance of going home, she excitedly ran in and told me the news, celebrating alongside us. This was even the second time I've had such a wonderful experience with Tammy.

The first was another hospitalization for the same problems, where I needed shots, and as a kid with a huge fear of needles, I was terrified. But Tammy was able to calm me down by bringing me a teddy bear that I still have on my shelf to this day. Her knowledge is amazing, as she knew exactly what to do and how to help me in every scenario. Her sense of humor was comforting and delightful as she made me, and my family, laugh during a really scary and sad time in our lives. I've never had such a pleasant experience with a nurse as I've had with Tammy.
