February 2020 Honoree
tammy george, RN
There was recently a patient that Tammy took care of who lost her baby at 19 weeks. Being that this was a heart-breaking event and right before Christmas, Tammy took it upon herself to bring plaster to the hospital in order to provide this family with something meaningful and tangible to remember their baby. Tammy obtained the most precious hand/feet prints on the plaster she bought and made an adorable Christmas ornament from one of the two sets she obtained. This is so special and meaningful. This act embodies everything the DAISY Award represents. I lost a baby at 37 weeks gestation and wish I would have had a nurse as kind, thoughtful, and empathetic as Tammy. She is new to our facility, but what a true blessing it is to have her!
Thank you, Tammy, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
