Morale improved steadily with Tammy's authentic leadership.
Our Emergency Department was struggling. Nursing turnover was very high, we were over-dependent on agency nurses. Patient satisfaction scores in the ED were significantly underperforming.
Under Tammy's guidance, a poorly performing on-call system was dismantled, and she worked in synergy with the ED physician team on a new patient flow system for the ED. Morale improved steadily with Tammy's authentic leadership. Tammy worked alongside us to obtain a real feel for our challenges and identify opportunities. She modeled true teamwork and her passion and energy spread across the entire team.
By December 2019, our agency use was down 50% and the retention rate was improving. In 2019, 75 % of her team rated our organization as a Great Place To Work, up 46% from the prior year. Patient Satisfaction scores improved an average of 20% per category, and ED arrival to decision to admit decreased to 54 minutes in 2019,

2020 was the year of COVID. Who knew that this tragedy could bring us closer? Yet Tammy continued to show the way and we were comforted by her strength, leadership, and her faith in our team. Tammy kept the team together through this extremely challenging time and we want to let her know how much we appreciate everything she has done for us.
