When I met my nurse and talked to her, I found her to be kind, compassionate, and a good listener.
My heart is so grateful for the care I received at Bryan. All the nurses were wonderful but Tammy really stood out because she took care of me for three very difficult nights. I came into the Bryan ER extremely sick and weak, as a result of my chemo treatment. I was vomiting and was diagnosed with pneumonia and sepsis. My hemoglobin was only a five, so I received a blood transfusion. I was very overwhelmed. When I met my nurse and talked to her, I found her to be kind, compassionate, and a good listener. I watched her hang my many IV bags and noticed how careful she was and she was sure to explain every blood draw, shot, injection and pill she gave me. Believe me, there were many. I felt I could trust her and that proved to be true as I got better each night. I found her to be smart, competent, and professional. I had to be isolated for a couple of days because my white blood cell count dipped to 0.7. The morning those isolation precautions were lifted, Tammy and another nurse decorated my door with balloons and streamers. That really touched my heart! She also advocated for me to get a higher dosage of melatonin than what was prescribed. If I am ever a patient again at Bryan I would want her as my nurse and would absolutely want her to take care of any of my loved ones. Thank you, Tammy!
