Over the past 17 years I have had the pleasure of attending classes and workshops, as well as working side by side with Tammy Jo Miller. Her genuine caring nature tends to leave a positive impression on every life that she has touched.
Tammy is an excellent nurse "on and off the clock", as my family and I witnessed earlier this year. I was at work alongside Tammy Jo Miller, RN, when a call came in from my family member stating that my spouse was not feeling well. I instructed them to call 911 if his condition worsened. As I was returning to the bedside of my patient, Tammy Jo approached me and said she had overheard my telephone conversation and she was concerned for my spouse. She began to question signs, symptoms and review medical history, she then instructed me to call the family back immediately and get 911 accessed as she was confident that my spouse was having a heart attack.
As I left the floor to meet my spouse at the hospital, Tammy Jo handed me her cell phone number and said call me anytime, day or night. Within hours that very same day Tammy Jo ended her shift and arrived to the ER to sit with me and my family offering prayer as well as her RN cardiac expertise during this life altering experience. My spouse had indeed suffered a heart attack and if it weren't for the quick reactions and proper treatment decisions he most likely would not be here today. I thankfully credit those medical decisions and the act of human caring kindness to Tammy Jo.
