Tammy Kendall, RN

Tammy Kendall was the nurse assigned to a patient with a bad femur fracture. The patient had been unable to rest or get any sleep due to being in so much pain. Tammy did everything she could medically to get the patient comfortable. When the patient was still unable to rest, Tammy asked her if there was anything at all she could do to help. The family jokingly mentioned that the patient had a cat at home that would always sleep on the patient's lap or chest and that she needed her cat. Tammy went to the gift shop and purchased a weighted stuffed cat with her own money that could be warmed in the microwave. The patient was able to fall asleep and get much-needed rest.
