Tammy L Hayden, ASN, RN
Ms. Hayden has been a nurse for 15 years, with the last years being spent in corrections. She has previously worked in the Emergency Room, Medical-Surgical, Ortho-Trauma, Preoperative, and Home Care Settings.
Ms. Hayden was nominated by a previous patient who expressed the following:
"I have finally made it into a work release program. During orientation, we were told to write a letter of gratitude to someone who has helped, inspired, or otherwise impacted me, or who has been a positive support in my life. Well, you were the first person who came to mind because you have been all of those things to me.
Not only were you my nurse, but you were also there when I needed someone to talk to, and you lifted me up when the system repeatedly knocked me to my knees. You, Miss Tammy, inspired me to be the man I know I am and to keep doing the next right thing. You went above and beyond the scope of work that is expected of you.
You helped me get to where I am today and achieve the goals I have. For that, I want to say thank you. Without you in my corner pushing me when I wanted to throw in the towel, I would not be where I am today. This is the end of this journey, and words cannot express how much I appreciate everything you have done for me along the way."
