Tammy came into the room and sat down in a chair and held the patient wrapped in a blanket so he would be warm and start singing to him and rocking him.
The patient Tammy and I were taking care of together did not want to do his breathing treatment. I asked Tammy to help me hold the patient so I could give him his treatment. I wasn't expecting Tammy to come into the room and sit down in a chair and hold the patient wrapped in a blanket so he would be warm and start singing to him and rocking him but that's what she did. She really cares about her patients and it showed during this instance so I just wanted to recognize her because I feel so many times that these actions can come as expected.
She helped the patient receive the breathing treatment that he needed and it helped me as a respiratory therapist give him the treatment that needed to be done.
