My spouse came home confused from the hospital and continued to become more confused. This nurse came for a visit 2 days later and assessed my spouse. She asked if any tests had been performed, called the doctor for an order, and sent it to the lab that Friday. By Tuesday, my spouse began shaking/tremors continuously. I took the temperature, and it was 98.6. Shortly after, I received a text from the nurse telling me the test was positive for an infection. I texted her back about what was happening and that I was watching my spouse closely. Her response was, “watch the temperature closely. Take them to the ER if it goes up.” It went to 100.6 and then 102.5, and they continued to have tremors/shaking uncontrollably. I called 911, and when the ambulance arrived, I was able to tell them that our HHC nurse had just contacted me and that his test was positive. At that point, the ambulance took him to the hospital, and he was admitted and treated for severe infection. If this nurse had not picked up on the possible infection on Friday, the ER would not have had the results ahead of time to treat my spouse. Luckily the quick action of this nurse eliminated what could have been a longer stay at the hospital. My spouse was discharged two days later on antibiotics. I would like to acknowledge the outstanding care she provided to my spouse and myself. She was amazing, professional, and knowledgeable. Excellent assessments and follow-through, extremely organized, kind and caring, and goes over and above!! Worked great with her team!! I would highly recommend her!!
