I was having a medical issue that was causing both physical and psychological discomfort. I went to the BCVA and did a walk-in appt with the PACT team. I assumed I would be there for a few hours. Tammy Saylor came out and got me within about 25 minutes of checking in. She was very empathetic to my situation, however, there was not a provider available to prescribe me the medications I needed unless I ran over to Urgent Care. I told her that the last time I went to Urgent Care first for an ear infection they sent me to PACT for a walk-in and that's why I came straight to Team B this time. She said, "Give me a sec, let me see if I can save you another trip" and left.
Within a few minutes, Tammy came back and let me know that she was able to find a provider for me up there in Team B and I would not have to go to Urgent Care if I didn't mind waiting for the doctor to finish up with another patient. I told her I was ready to wait! The provider came in within maybe 5 minutes, she agreed with Tammy that I would need to be prescribed a medication and they went ahead and put in the prescription right then and there. I would say the whole visit to Team B only lasted about 45-50 minutes, but in that 45-50 minutes I surely felt like I was important, and Tammy was going to do whatever she had to do to make me comfortable in my skin again.
