Tammy has dedicated the last 21 years to the victims of Sexual Assault. Tammy founded the SWLA S.A.N.E. (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) program. She has also made it a priority to raise awareness in our community about sexual violence and human trafficking. She and the SWLA SANE/SART (Sexual Assault Response Team) work hand in hand with Rape Crisis outreach and the Children’s Advocacy Center to provide the highest level of care possible to victims of sexual assault. Her leadership and dedication to the citizens of Region 5 (Calcasieu, Cameron, Beauregard, Jeff Davis, and Allen Parishes) are unparalleled. She was appointed to the Attorney General’s Sexual Assault Oversight Commission by Rep. Stephen Dwight now District Attorney for Calcasieu parish. This commission has set up statewide protocols for SANE programs and an evidence kit for all SANE programs. There is no doubt that in her 29+ year career as an RN she has made a huge impact on the citizens of SWLA.
