The entire staff in this unit brings great hospitality and is very informative during a stay at the hospital. However, Tammy Wylie brings brightness to you on some of your darkest days by just being herself. She has been called a walking "Angel" by several of her patients. This is because Tammy arrives in a room that may be full of pain, fear, and confusion, and brings about the comfort and compassion that you'd hope to find in a Nurse. She is not only a full-time nurse, but she is a full-time nursing student reaching for her Masters, a full-time mom to her now-grown children, a grandma, while also working hard towards a black belt in Krav Maga. She works hard at everything she does and being a Nurse is something she does phenomenal at.
Tammy is known for her gentle touch and sweet voice, while also assuring everyone is on the same page when it comes to medical advice and what is happening during the stay at UMASS. She is a great woman, nurse and personal friend that I have the pleasure of knowing.

Tammy is truly an amazing woman. I was in a severe motorcycle accident in very rough shape. Tammy would check in on me making sure that I was comfortable, anything needed, and to make sure that my stay in UMASS was a good/positive experience. She kept my spirits and hope's up, to even be able to walk again, which is a huge miracle. I didn't believe in myself. Tammy helped me believe it myself. She goes above and beyond for people. Heart of gold, awesome and positive personality. I cannot speak any better of anyone. Tammy Wiley is an absolute Angel. UMASS has one of the absolute best people working there.
