She was so kind, gentle, reassuring, humorous, and honestly, the best nurse I have ever had in my life.
In 2021, I gave birth to my firstborn in a different hospital. I would describe my birthing experience with him as traumatic, cold, and painful. I didn’t have the nursing support I needed, and I ended up having a terrible postpartum experience. It wasn’t a joyful time like I had hoped for.
Fast forward to this pregnancy, I ended up being unexpectedly induced at 37 weeks due to preeclampsia. My OBGYN had just moved to the CRMC, and I was a bit nervous delivering again at the new place, due to my nausea and being scared. I was also feeling a bit dreadful because of my past experience. That’s when an angel came into our room!
Tamra Nichols instantly made me feel like I’ve known her my whole life. She was so kind, gentle, reassuring, humorous, and honestly, the best nurse I have ever had in my life. I have never had a nurse care for me like she did. My husband and family members even commented on her bedside manner and knowledge. I asked so many questions, and she answered them perfectly and made me feel more confident.
At one point, my blood pressure dropped dangerously low, and she was so quick to react that I never felt scared. I was even able to take a nap during labor, which is something I never thought I would do. I was so comfortable and felt peaceful. Even during birth, she was so supportive, and I was so thankful she was there alongside me. Looking back, she felt like a security blanket, and I can confidently say that every nurse should look up to her on how to treat patients.
After birth, she would continue checking on us even in the postpartum room. She made me feel comfortable enough to really ask questions without judgment and taught me so much about breastfeeding. I am so incredibly lucky to have had the privilege of having her be my nurse!
Overall, Tamra Nichols made my birthing experience an absolute dream. She was so attentive and went the extra mile. I honestly cannot say my birthing experience would have been the same without her. My husband and I both agree that if we were to ever have another child, she would have to be our nurse. Tamra Nichols is an angel!

I couldn’t be more thankful for Tamra Nichols and her kindness. I gave birth to my baby girl in February of 2025. It was a somewhat unexpected caesarean section. Although I put on a brave face, I was scared. Out of everyone in the room, I know she must have sensed that. She began talking about things that kept my mind off getting an epidural and preparing for surgery. We joked, and I got to know some fun facts about Australia, where she spent some time living. She was interacting with my husband and mother, who were also nervous. This put their mind at ease.
After coming out of surgery, I had some uncontrollable shaking. She reassured me during this time. Although most everyone was attentive to my newborn, she was paying attention to my needs. For clarification, all I was thinking about was my newborn’s well-being. I said I was okay, but by my body language, she could tell otherwise. After she expressed concern, I admitted that I was feeling lightheaded. She brought me crackers and Sprite. She continued to check on me during interactions with other staff is also something to be mentioned. She showed teamwork and had a positive attitude the entire time. Everyone in the room fed off of her positive attitude, and I strongly believe staff members look forward to working with her. I will always remember her and couldn’t be more thankful she was a part of our special day.
