I've always felt so much respect in her care.
Tania has been my nurse for the past few days. The transfer to this floor was sudden and unexpected. This was my fourth room during my stay, so I was anxious and thrown for a loop. From the minute she showed up in my room for the transfer, she made me feel at ease. I tend to ask a lot of questions, and I'm heavily involved in my own care. I've always felt so much respect in her care. She never rushed me or made me feel like I was asking too much. If there are things she can't answer, she will message the doctor right there in the room so we can get things figured out as soon as possible. When I got tired of hospital food, she didn't hesitate to let me know I could order out, and she would run down to grab it for me. I am writing this before the eclipse, but she has promised me that we're going to see it if we can find a spot to watch, as she knows how excited I am about it. I have complicated feelings about my pain medications, as in the past, I have been discouraged from using all of the options available to me. She has made a point of reassuring me that if I am in pain, I shouldn't suffer. It's what the meds are there for, and it lifted a lot of anxiety and shame I was feeling for taking a breakthrough dose. She values my input and tips when it comes to things such as my port instead of dismissing what I have to say. I have been very lucky to have her on my care team.
