Tania also served as an interpreter for the baby nurses when they needed to communicate with us about the baby.
From the first moment that we had contact with Tania she was so kind to my wife and me, she also switched to speaking Spanish so that my wife and I will feel more comfortable. She was with my wife from admission until my wife had our baby via cesarean section and every step of the way she showed kindness, empathy, and compassion. It was evident to us that Tania has been working in Labor and Delivery for a long time, when we asked her she said a little bit over 15 years.

She smiled and said, “I’m blessed to do what I love and get paid for it." We could tell that she takes pride in working here a UMC. My wife always gets really nervous before her cesarean sections because the anesthesia makes her throw up a lot. Also, my wife was getting her tubes tied this time, and that only added to her stress. Tania explained to my wife what to expect through the whole procedure and while she held my wife's hand, she assured us that we were in the best hospital and that everyone here is highly skilled and that they will take care of anything that comes up, including my wife throwing up.

My wife and I felt so reassured, my wife stopped shaking. The surgery went well, we had a beautiful baby girl and yes, my wife threw up many times, and Tania made sure my wife got the medication for it. The baby nurses also were so knowledgeable and professional, we truly felt like we were at home. Tania also served as an interpreter for the baby nurses when they needed to communicate with us about the baby. We cannot say thank you enough times, we will recommend UMC to any of our friends and family. Thanks to UMC for having such great nurses working here!
