She makes navigating Duchenne-life easy and I appreciate her so much. Having a nurse that has our back is priceless.
Tanicia started her career in Neurology as a newly-pinned LPN. Her dedication to mentoring co-workers, providing safe and effective patient care and demonstrating a consistent professional demeanor inspired us to move her into the Specialty Program Coordinator role. In this role, she continued to grow and provide oversight to the many complex aspects of our neuromuscular disease program. Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy – an organization that certifies excellence in the care of patients with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy – recognized Tanicia in May for her role in the care of patients with this disease as part of the Nurses Week celebration.

The following recognition can be found on their website and on their Facebook page. “Earlier this month we asked the Duchenne community to help us celebrate amazing nurses who have made a positive difference in their lives by sharing their stories. One of the families wanted to recognize Tanicia Johnson and this is what they had to say: ‘Tanicia has proven over and over to be a crucial player in ensuring my son has what he needs and in a timely fashion. From med refills to forms filled out for camp, providing resources, and checking in on us, Tanicia has always delivered. She makes navigating Duchenne-life easy and I appreciate her so much. Having a nurse that has our back is priceless. Thank you, Tanicia!’

Tanicia- On behalf of PPMD and the Duchenne community, we wanted to say THANK YOU! Your continuous dedication and hard work matter and truly make a difference."
