My husband was under many skilled and compassionate nurses' care at RiverBend, but the last 5 days of his life were led by his day nurse, Tanis. My husband had a very interesting sense of humor but due to the pain and fear he was in; he became difficult and distrustful. Tanis managed to gain his trust, get on his level and match his sharp wit all while providing him with exemplary patient care and an emphasis on patience, understanding, and knowledge. I don't know if we would have gotten through it without her.
