Tanisha Hillman, RN

Tanisha went above and beyond counseling a pregnant patient who came to triage as a cry for help after engaging in substance abuse with intent to harm her baby due to the father of the baby being abusive and having an unstable home life. She spent a significant amount of time talking to this patient about her future, her child’s future, and a plan to get her out of her spiral and better her life. She demonstrated exceptional patient care as an RN. This example is not the only time Tanisha has gone above and beyond.

Every young, old, or struggling woman that comes through her triage, Tanisha counsels and encourages. She empowers young women in the community to take care of themselves physically, mentally, and spiritually. I find it evident that her mission is her work and makes a difference in the lives of those who cross her path. Patients who come in without prenatal care and positive drug screens she counsels on the need for prenatal care have come back to triage with OB follow up arranged and negative repeat UDS due to her positive influence in their life. I appreciate her extra efforts and feel she should be recognized.
