Tanner Engle is a delight to work with. He brings fun to the workplace by making the staff laugh, and just being an overall positive person. On this day in particular, he showed extraordinary bravery by jumping in and helping to restrain a patient that was experiencing an episode of acute psychosis. This patient was not Tanner’s, and this incident happened at change of shift. Not only did he come from the other side of the unit and guard the door to help keep the patient in his room and prevent him from attacking the staff, but he collaborated with security once the door was opened to get the patient in bed all while being lunged at, bit, scratched, and spit on. If it had not been for Tanner’s bravery and willingness to step in, this patient could have and would have caused harm to the staff that were working that morning. A simple thank you is just not enough for what he did for our unit that day. Tanner goes above and beyond the call of duty with no questions asked.
