Tanner Gray went above and beyond to help get a patient over to the hospice unit. Transport was running behind and the patient needed to come to the hospice unit sooner than transport would be available. Tanner came to the hospice unit and got the bed for the patient himself with no hesitation. Tanner and the respiratory team had the patient over to the unit within 30 minutes. The patient had a 9-year-old granddaughter that wanted to spend time with the patient before she passed away. Patient was maxed out on 3 pressors and on bipap, and was not expected to live long after the pressors were removed. Tanner stayed in the hospice unit, leaving the pressors running which allowed the patient's granddaughter and family to spend time with her prior to passing. Tanner stayed 45 minutes after his shift was done. Tanner was so kind with the family and they were so appreciative of his kindness. Tanner gives exceptional care to his patients and comfort to their families during the last moments of their lives. Tanner is definitely an extraordinary nurse who makes a difference in his patients' lives every day.
