I received a call from a patient's father tonight. He expressed how grateful he was for having Tanner as his child's nurse a week ago. His son was hospitalized overnight for pain control following a complicated procedure. His son went home the next afternoon but made sure his father called to say how wonderful his care was, although the father also wanted to express his appreciation. Some things the father said were: "The care Tanner provided was above and beyond, it was the highest level of care you can imagine", "Tanner was just exceptional", and "Tanner chose the perfect profession-he brings a calming presence when doing his work". He went on to say, that the care Tanner provided expedited their discharge home the following day, which they were happy for but sad that they didn't get to say goodbye.
I couldn't be more proud to hear this father say so many positive things about the care Tanner provided during their stay. He does a great job each and every day, and I hope Tanner knows how much he is appreciated in caring for the children and their families daily. Tanner makes such a difference.
