Tannies took the time to return after her shift was over to give my father-in-law a foot massage. Something I'm sure he appreciated.
While it has been 4 months since the passing of my father-in-law, my husband and I have not forgotten the very kind deed and wonderful nursing care that he received during his stay there. Tannies deserves recognition for the generosity of her time, the kindness that she showed, and having the heart of a nurse - one that Florence Nightingale would be proud of. You see, my father-in-law was one of those old-timers who was set in his ways, and I hope he didn't give the nurses too difficult of a time during his stay. And as a nurse myself, I can empathize with the stress and fatigue of caring for sick patients with multiple co-morbidities. But despite that, Tannies took the time to return after her shift was over to give my father-in-law a foot massage. Something I'm sure he appreciated because my mother-in-law used to do that for him as he always complained that his lower legs hurt all the time. So, Tannies, thank you for everything you have done for our dad and for making his stay that little bit more comfortable. I wish I could thank you in person. On difficult days I hope this will remind you of how wonderful a nurse you are, and that what you do means a lot to those you care for and their families. NYU is truly lucky to have you.
