Tanya goes above anything expected for all of her patients, follows up after a family has buried a loved one, carries loss after loss on her shoulders, and still manages to do it again the next day.
Tanya has been working with Arkansas Hospice for a while. She is the most compassionate and caring nurse I've ever had the pleasure to meet. Tanya has a wide variety of patients, and several of them reside in nursing homes.
When people think of nursing homes, they think of the elderly population. That's not the case anymore. Tanya went above and beyond for a not-so-traditional patient. A young lady whose life is being robbed from her by juvenile Huttinton's disease. As soon as this young lady was admitted, she got with some of us at the facility about the Make-A-Wish program and made it possible for our sweet girl to have a prom, something to make her feel like everyone else her age.
Tanya arranged for our girl to feel and look like a beautiful princess and to have her special night. The way her face lit up brought us all to tears and also brought us to our knees. Tanya goes above anything expected for all of her patients, follows up after a family has buried a loved one, carries loss after loss on her shoulders, and still manages to do it again the next day. She, along with others working in areas where we are forgotten as nurses, sometimes need a reminder that we are seen!
Tanya, you are amazing and a role model to so many other nurses! I know I want to thank you every single day for showing me to keep going, keep caring, and keep being amazing!
