Tanya has probably saved the lives of hundreds of children over her 29-year career by directly working as a critical care nurse and then in her current role as a resuscitation officer where she has trained countless doctors, nurses, AHPs, and parents/carers in how to deal with deteriorating, sick or critically injured infants and children in respiratory and/or cardiac arrest whilst running national, local, mandated, bespoke or service critical courses and training. In addition, Tanya has designed, planned, and facilitated an array of ground-breaking courses using different teaching modalities. Furthermore, Tanya has provided unwavering support for staff who have encountered traumatic emergencies in their clinical role. Tanya is an inspiration with her ‘can do’ attitude, unfaltering dedication to her job, and relentless hard work, always going the extra mile. She’s also the most amazing manager, making her team feel so supported and valued at all times. If anyone deserves this award it’s Tanya. She retires next year and I can’t imagine Sheffield Children's without her.
