A patient came over to Mother Baby Center from Labor and Delivery, began to have increased bleeding about an hour after the admission. This was her first child/birth experience and the patient was very frightened. Tara stayed by the patient's side, assessing her bleeding, called more nurses into the room and call the doctors when her bleeding turned into a postpartum hemorrhage. Tara coached the patient through each fundal check and 3 bi-manual exams. She reassured the patient that we would take care of her and also her newborn. Tara did not leave the patient's side for almost 7 hours. She utilized her team to help care for her other patients and ensured everyone got the appropriate care. The patient was so grateful for Tara's undivided care and compassion during her frightening and painful experience.
