December 2022 Honoree
Tara Dean, LPN
On the very first day that I was on unit 3 without a preceptor, I had been called in 3-11 and at that time the unit was on isolation due to COVID. I was anxious because not only had I never worked that shift on the unit alone, I have never worked that shift on that unit. Tara sensed that I was anxious and stayed late on a Sunday to help me with my shift, she did all the treatments that were due as well as helped with some medications. Later on the shift I had to send out a resident to the ER and if she hadn't stayed I would never been able to catch up. She's always looking out for her co-workers and the children. She cares for the children with compassion and love like they are her own. She is one of the most thorough nurses at St. Mary's and I can always trust her to give the most accurate report possible. She is an asset to St. Mary's. She made a better nurse.
Thank you, Tara, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
