Tara’s exceptional qualities and dedication to patient care have made a profound impact on our work in the EP lab. Over the course of approximately three years, I have witnessed firsthand her unwavering commitment to our patients, and it is my firm belief that she is an invaluable asset to our team. Throughout our time working together, we have encountered numerous challenging and intricate cases. As an electrophysiologist, multiple procedures require the nurse to sedate the patients and closely monitor them during the procedure. Several patients have returned their feedback during follow-up to thank Tara for her remarkable ability to alleviate their anxiety and ensure their comfort during procedures. She has proven to be a lifesaver in multiple instances where critical events were narrowly averted. One such case stands out in my memory: during the implantation of a pacemaker in an elderly patient, Tara, who happened to be on break from another procedure room, swiftly identified and alerted the team when the patient developed a complete heart block with no ventricular escape. Her quick response and assistance played a crucial role in stabilizing the patient.

Moreover, Tara’s dedication to patient care extends far beyond her assigned responsibilities. For instance, during my ablation procedures, when the fellow is unavailable to assist with programmed stimulation, Tara is one of only a few staff members who offer to step in and operate the stimulation machine under my guidance, ensuring the success of the procedure and minimizing the procedure time. This is just one example of numerous instances where Tara’s selflessness and dedication to optimal patient outcomes have shone through.

Over the last month, Tara has taken the role of an instructor, training new nurses in the EP lab. Observing her during these teaching sessions has provided me with a deeper appreciation of her excellence and the extraordinary lengths she goes through to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes. Despite her exceptional abilities, Tara remains remarkably humble, which only adds to her reputation as one of the most reliable nurses I have had the privilege of working with throughout my career.
