Tara is a highly regarded registered nurse on West 12. Tara has grown over the past two years from novice nurse to fully competent. Tara comes to work each day with a positive attitude and a smile on her face. Her passion for excellence shows in her work daily. She has a calm, caring demeanor while working with patients and families and takes time to sit with her families and answer their questions.

Tara is able to see the big picture with her patients as she has excellent critical thinking skills and is often able to predict what will happen next and advocates for what is best for the patient. She communicates with members of the interdisciplinary team in an effective manner. Tara consistently collaborates with her co workers and is a team player. During busier times on the unit, she has come in early and stayed late for shifts in order to maintain patient safety and adequate staffing.

Tara has assisted in pioneering the admission nurse role on West 12 which has been very helpful during heavy admission times. She is a patient teacher with orientees and students and takes the time to effectively communicate with them and utilizes situations for learning. Tara is a pleasure to work with and is able to adapt to an ever changing situation whether she is staffing or in the charge nurse role. Tara demonstrates excellence as a Children's nurse and is a role model for nursing on West 12.
