Tara helped us milk every minute with our daughter and truly understood the gravity of our situation.
Tara was my nurse on the night shift. My husband and I had known the child we were going to deliver was affected by Bilateral Renal Agenesis since 22 weeks. We learned that she was ineligible for the RAFT program at Johns Hopkins and therefore would be a palliative case at birth. Tara came on the night shift as it was time to take me to the OR for a C-section. From the beginning to the end of her time taking care of us she was incredible, to say the least. She assisted in picture-taking and memory-making while our baby was living and postmortem as well.
Tara helped us milk every minute with our daughter and truly understood the gravity of our situation. She found several gifts for our daughter and us and made sure we got linked up with the Molly Bear program as well. Much of what Tara provided us with was used to clothe our little angel as we laid her to rest. Tara truly embodies what it means to be a nurse and is walking in her God-given calling every time she clocks in for a shift. She knows what it means to take care of “the whole patient”, meaning Mom, baby and Dad. She is an incredible asset to the Family Birth Center. She truly ministered to us in our hour of need.
