Tara Keith, an ICU nurse, was in awe when she was told that she was the 4th quarter 2011 DAISY Award recipient.
Tara was nominated by a patient’s daughter for her care and support during her mother’s illness. The daughter said of Tara, “Thank you just doesn’t seem like enough. I can’t begin to tell you how much you came to mean to me in a very short time. Thank you so much for caring for my mom. Not only her, but my family and especially me. I know that you truly love what you do for the way you handled the situation when she opened her eyes when I talked to her. I am so glad that you were there and honestly there hasn’t been a day since she passed I haven’t thought about her or you. You have touched me and left your mark. Thank you again for being so special”.
Tara celebrated her award with her husband and parents. Tearful she said, “I remember this family and it was a special time for me too”.
