My wife had lung cancer surgery. She has had 5 surgeries in the last few years and she's not in the best of shape. When they brought her into her ICU room after surgery she was totally miserable. And then this wonderful, beautiful nurse named Tara took over, and I mean "took over". There was a lot of equipment and there were problems with pain but Tara made sure her first consideration was my wife. It was so obvious that Tara was totally committed to her and would make everything better for her-and she had the talent to do so-she was so calm and professional. In the midst of what I would call chaos, she won the day. Each time I returned to see my wife in the hospital I tried to find her and thank her in person.
